o support Crossroads Care Surrey in responding to Covid-19 by providing telephone or virtual call befriending support to people who are isolated at home and dependent on Carer support from a friend or family member. We would like to give support, conversation and companionship to people that are sick, disabled, infirm or coming to the end of their life and that have been isolated at home during the Covid-19 lock down, with few people to talk to but their Carer.
We would like to give befriending support to the cared-for person, while at the same time offering their Carer a short break while you engage the cared-for person in conversation. Calls could last anything from 10 minutes to 30 minutes and you will ensure you can listen with understanding, patience and then respond appropriately.
We ask you to commit to making at the minimum 4 befriending calls to clients each week.

Access to a laptop or PC and willingness to connect to cloud-based telephone app and rostering systems
This role is subject to a DBS check
