Steps2Work is a project supported by Woking Borough Council and DWP, designed to equip 18–24-year-olds at particular risk of unemployment with the tools they need to find a job or education that is suitable and sustainable for them.
Our personal approach means that each young person will be guided and supported with help and advice that meets their specific needs.
We offer free tailor-made courses and workshops such as bike maintenance, conservation and holistic therapies as well as skills training to help boost confidence and employability. These are offered monthly, dependant on demand, and many will offer certificates to show to prospective employers. We can also provide information on apprenticeships and Kickstart opportunities.
Each young person will be matched with a trained Steps2Work Volunteer Mentor. They will provide 1:1 mentoring support to help motivate and inspire them to build a better future for themselves.
We are based at The Moorcroft Centre, Westfield, Woking.
