Victims First Community Engagement & Fundraising Volunteer

Victims First Northumbria is an independent victim referral service and registered charity. We put victims of crime at the heart of our service ensuring they are given help and support to cope and recover from the difficult experience they have faced. We understand the different needs required by people using the service. Some may have suffered deep psychological or emotional trauma; some may be vulnerable or suffer from a particular disability; people from particular ethnic groups may need culturally sympathetic support; people of different ages will have different needs to each other; some cases are more complex than others. Whoever the victim, and whatever the crime, we will always put them first and give the best possible support, care and advice. As a Victims First Community Engagement & Fundraising Volunteer you will: Engage with local community groups to promote greater understanding, engagement and partnership with Victims First. Assist at presentations and talks. Attend community group meetings and events. Attend and assist with the organisation of fundraising events such as bag packs, collections and entertainment evenings. Assist with the sourcing of donations for fundraising events. Promote Victims First Northumbria’s mission and values. Have good communication skills. Develop public speaking, presentation and networking skills. Be committed to equality and diversity. Be flexible as some work will involve evenings and weekends.
