Cat Fosterer

Our cat fosterers provide a temporary home for our cats/kittens whilst they wait to be adopted into a permanent home.

We are looking to recruit more indoor fosterers, who will provide care, attention and love within their own home. If you have a cat(s) of your own, you would need to provide a dedicated spare room for your foster cat. If you don't have a cat, your foster can have the run of the whole house if that suits you. Ideally you would also have access to a car.

As a volunteer cat fosterer you would be expected to be:

 ·        Meeting the needs of the cats in your care

·         Maintaining minimum veterinary and cat care standards

·         Cleaning and looking after the cats’ environment and equipment

·         Feeding, grooming and administering medication (such as flea and worm treatments)

·         Spending time enriching the cats experience in care including; play, exercise and stroking

·         Taking your foster cat for vet appointments

Prospective adopters, who have already been approved, would need to visit your foster cat to see whether he/she is indeed the cat for them.

There is a small amount of administration required to ensure the cats' records are kept up to date.

All expenses are paid and all equipment is provided.

As a cat fosterer you may develop new skills, expand your knowledge, meet new people and make new friends. You will be making a significant contribution to improving the lives of cats and kittens in need by caring for them before they find new loving homes.
