Members wanted at disabled people's user-led organisation

Members contribute to the direction of our charity, take part and vote in our AGM, receive regular updates on what’s happening in health and social care locally and nationally, and have an active role in supporting people to live independently. You do not need to be a member to access our services.

Members: We welcome people with support needs, carers, and anyone interested in taking an active role in our charity. By becoming a member you will help us to achieve our charitable objectives and support people to live independently. You will be able to influence the priorities and direction of our charity through voting at our AGM. You will actively contribute to our charitable work such as fundraising, volunteering, or giving feedback on the services, website, or the areas of work, to help us develop our organisation.

Associates: We welcome organisations, groups and networks that support carers or people with support needs. We also welcome organisations from health, social care, education, or are based in Hampshire or West Sussex and are interested in supporting disabled people.

Supporters: As a supporter you will be kept updated with developments in our organisation, and across health and social care, and be invited to take part in fundraising, volunteering, or giving feedback on the services, website, or the areas of work.

Your commitment and ours: We are a user-led organisation we expect our members to understand and support the social model of disability and commit to our vision, mission and values. We welcome members from all backgrounds, and can provide information and guidance in a range of formats. Members need to be aged 18 or over. Your membership will be renewed annually and you will be sent a reminder. In the application form we ask you about what kind of membership you are interested in and how you would like to actively support our organisation.

How to join: Please complete the application form below or contact us if you would like more information: https://www.independentlives.org/forms/membership-application-form
